How to use a Digital Mastercard® eGift Card

Ready to start using your Digital Mastercard® eGift Card? Here’s a quick guide to get you shopping smoothly, online or in-store.

Note: The Digital Mastercard® eGift Card can be purchased and used in Australia only. 

How do I use my Digital Mastercard® eGift Card?

To start, unlock your Digital Mastercard® with the 4-digit pin found in your gift email, SMS, or by scanning the QR code on a PDF.
Once unlocked, you can use it online or add it to your Google Pay Wallet for in-store use.

For online shopping:

1. Select your chosen brand or retailers and add items to your cart.
2. At checkout, select ‘Credit’ and enter the card details (card number, expiry and security code)
3. Follow the retailer’s checkout process to complete the transaction.

For in-store shopping:

1. Add your card to your Google Pay Wallet or manually enter the details at the register.
2. Make sure the total cost of your intended purchase is equal to or lower than the balance on your Digital Mastercard® eGift Card. Some retailers or brands may accept split payments in-store.
3. Alternatively, you can provide the card details (card number, expiry and security code) to the retailer at the register.

Do I need to activate my Digital Mastercard® eGift Card in order to use it?

No, your Digital Mastercard® is ready to use as soon as you receive it. No activation is required.

Where can I use my Digital Mastercard® eGift Card?

You can use your Digital Mastercard® eGift Card anywhere in Australia that accepts Mastercard.

How can I check my card balance or view my transaction history?

To check your card balance or view your transaction history.

1. Log in to your Prezzee Wallet or use your gift email, SMS, or PDF file to access your Digital Mastercard® eGift Card.
2. Follow the onscreen instructions to ‘Get your card’.
3. On your card details page, locate the ‘Manage Your Card’ section to review the balance summary and transaction history.

Recent transactions may take time to appear in your transaction history.

You can also check your card balance by entering the card details at www.mybalancenow.com.

When does my Digital Mastercard® eGift Card expire?

Digital Mastercard® eGift Cards are valid for 5 years. Your card’s expiry date is displayed in your Prezzee Wallet and your card details page.

How do I add a Digital Mastercard® Gift Card to my Google Pay Wallet? 

To add a Digital Mastercard® Gift Card to your Google Pay Wallet, follow these steps:

• Open the Google Pay Wallet on your device. 
• Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your card details manually. On the Add to Wallet screen, make sure to select 'Payment card' to complete the process successfully.

What happens if I need to return something purchased using myDigital Mastercard® eGift Card?

If the retailer agrees to a refund for goods or services purchased with your card and does not offer cash refunds, by using the card you agree to accept a credit back to the balance of your card. The credit will reflect on your card within 30 days. 

Any credits that exceed the original value of the card may be declined or take up to 30 days to process.

To view credits, check your card details page via your Prezzee Wallet or gift email, SMS or PDF.

Can I reload or transfer funds to my Digital Mastercard® eGift Card?

No. Digital Mastercard® eGift Cards are not reloadable. You cannot transfer funds to the card or between cards.

Can I use my Digital Mastercard® eGift Card to make purchases in international currencies?

Yes, you can. However, transactions made in currencies other than Australian dollars will be converted into Australian dollars before being deducted from your card balance. Mastercard International handles the conversion, and a foreign currency transaction fee of 2.5% of the total transaction amount will also apply.

I have a small balance left on my Digital Mastercard® eGift Card. How can I use it?

You can use your remaining balance at most online retailers, once your purchase amount is lower than or equal to your remaining balance on your Digital Mastercard® eGift Card. Consider retailers that offer free shipping. Alternatively, some retailers offer split payment in-store. 

Can I use my Digital Mastercard® eGift Card to withdraw cash?

No. You cannot use your Digital Mastercard® to withdraw cash at ATMs or POS terminals.
